Thanks for Sharing the Blogging Advice

First off, I’d like to thank all of you that passed along your thoughts and suggestions regarding my monthly newsletter.  I appreciate the feedback.  The majority of you mentioned enjoying posts about the writing journey.  I have to agree.  I enjoy reading about the difficulties, the learning processes, the different paths writers take to achieve their creative goals too.  Every writer has a unique story and I’m no different.  In the coming months and years, I look forward to giving you a glimpse into my personal journey.  Hopefully, you will come away with a tip or two that is both inspiring and helpful.

As I mentioned before, I have a lot of different interest.  I’ve been lucky to have had a wide variety of life experiences.  There is no doubt these experiences have helped to shape and inspire the different subjects I enjoy writing about.  In an attempt to satisfy all the different things I want to share, and staying true to the people reading my posts, I’ve decided to break down my newsletter into three different categories.

To those of you who enjoy reading about my writing journey, these posts will be under the heading THE DETERMINED WRITER.   Stories about some of the diverse experiences I have encountered, journeys I have taken and unique people that I have met, will be under the heading THE INTERESTING LIVES WE LIVE.  And because I love nature and science, I have to add a category entitled BIOLOGY IN THE WORLD AROUND US.

Realizing not all categories will appeal to everyone (I have a diverse group of readers with varied interests), I thought it would make it easier deciding if the subject material is appealing to spend the time reading.

If I am missing something, or if you have an idea that you would like to share, please feel free to pass it along.

On a heartwarming note, the picture below is of one of my recent bovine patients.  The cow had a displaced abomasum, requiring surgical intervention.  I went out to my truck to get the necessary instruments for the surgery and came back to find this little fella comforting my patient.   It’s hard to see, but the cow is standing.  Not sure how the kitten made his way up there.

That picture made my day. We all need a kitten on our backs sometimes.

Kittens sure have a way of cheering up a dreary day, even if you’re a cow.
